Student Council (CVL)

Ten students are elected for two-year terms. Seven are elected by the entire student body after an election campaign at the beginning of the school year and vote using a ballot box and voting booth (citizenship education). Their term is two years. If one representative is in their final year of high school, their alternate must be in their penultimate or final year. Three delegates are elected by the general assembly of delegates, which is held in the seventh week after the start of the school year. They have a one-year term, renewable annually. These delegates give their opinions on school life, academic guidance, delegate training, and the organization of students' study time. They meet at least three times a year, chaired by the head of the school, and their work is reported to the board of directors. They have a student life fund that allows them to finance a number of activities. They participate in the management of the FSE (Student Social and Educational Center). However, at Lycée Sévigné, the student council representatives have a great deal of autonomy and meet very frequently. They have an office with a computer and telephone line. They hold office hours, usually between 12:00 and 2:00 PM, to meet with fellow representatives and any student who wishes to speak with them.

BOARDING SCHOOL

  • We have three night supervisors to ensure the smooth running of the boarding school. BOARDING SCHEDULE Morning:
  • Students wake up at 6:55 a.m.;
  • Lunch service begins at 7:10 a.m.;
  • All students must leave the dormitory by 7:30 a.m. Evening:
  • 1st period: 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.: Relaxation (students are in their rooms);
  • 2nd period: 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Dining hall;
  • 3rd period: 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For 10th graders: Mandatory study hall from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • At 7:30 p.m., the supervisor in charge of 10th grade goes to the study hall and takes attendance; students must work in silence. However, they are allowed one evening a week, meaning they can either go to the TV, the small common room to relax, listen to music, play foosball, or the large common room to work in groups. This is until 9:30 p.m. at the latest. They then return to the dormitories to shower (if they haven't already done so between 6:00 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.). At 10:00 p.m., all boarders must be in their rooms, except for those watching a film. For first-year and final-year students: 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. First-year and final-year students work independently in their rooms or in the computer room. They can also go to the TV or the common room. Students who wish to work later (until 11:30 p.m.) can work in their rooms if they have the permission of their roommates; otherwise, they can work in small study rooms adjacent to the dormitories. Boarding school outings: Second-year students do not leave the school grounds, except for extracurricular activities (music school, sports: a letter from family is required). First-year students are allowed one outing per week from 6:00 PM to 6:40 PM, to be arranged with them at the beginning of the year. Final-year students are allowed two outings per week. A packed lunch can be provided for these outings. Wednesday outings: Boarding students may return home to their families on Wednesday and come back on Thursday morning. If this is the case, families must specify this in writing at the beginning of the year. Students who do not go home are free on Wednesday afternoon to go out in town or remain in their dormitory rooms.
